DHL in PARIS Celebrates 40 Years of operations in FRANCE - 1976 to 2016

On September 29, 2016 was given by Michel AKAVI (CEO DHL International Express France) a Press Conference at Shangri-La Hôtel in PARIS to announce the celebration of 40 years of DHL France (1976-2016). DHL is part of the world´s leading postal and logistics company Deutsche Post DHL Group, and encompasses the business units DHL Express, DHL Parcel, DHL eCommerce, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Freight and DHL Supply Chain.
STRATEGY 2020: Focus.Connect.Grow :
Their vision, mission and goals for the future are laid out in their 'Strategy 2020 : Focus.Connect.Grow'. It´s a simple strategy built on the three pillars of Focus, Connect and Grow, they have laid out a clear plan for the coming years with ambitious yet achievable goals. DHL claim to be dedicated to valorize and support exports of 'Made in France'. And from 2019/2020, a mega-hub and a sorting center in FRANCE :
* 85 million Euros for this new mega-hub at Roissy, around 20,000 m2 (four times bigger than the actual one)
* 43 million Euros for a new sorting center, around 12,000 m2 at Lyon Saint-Exupéry
Two Innovation Centers : Bonn and Singapour. Innovations such as : drones ('Parcelcopter'), vehicles without drivers, Vision Picking, Onboard Information Technology, Robots in warehouses.
To optimized delivery to the last mile : Kangoo ZE, Colibus, Triporteurs... StreetScooter, DistriGreen.
