The plant health laboratory (LSV) ANSES, the National Reference Laboratory, in partnership with INRA Angers proceeded with an analytical method for further identification of the subspecies of the bacterium to analyzes of samples positive balances resulting in a detection of the bacterium in 2015 Xyllela fastidiosa.------------------------------------------------------------  The results of these analyzes confirmed overwhelmingly the initial results of LSV, namely the presence of the multiplex sub-species of the bacteria. Some results obtained by INRA nevertheless moving towards the presence of other subspecies or recombinant alone. Thus, the subspecies pauca is identified in the outbreaks detected in Menton in the Alpes-Maritimes. At this point, nothing supports the conclusion that the bacteria identified is identical to that which prevails over the olive trees of Puglia (Italy). In this regard, it is important to note that all sampling and inspections carried out this year around Menton home gave negative results.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  The Directorate General of Food of the Ministry of Agriculture informed Thursday, September 16 members of the National Advisory Board of animal and plant health policy (CNOPSAV) of the work conducted by INRA and the LSV, designed to better understanding the genetic variability of the Xylella fastidiosa bacteria detected in France. A discussion was also held with the European Commission and all member states at the Committee of Experts which met in Brussels on 27 September. France proposed further work between European laboratories to develop harmonized analytical methods at European level.  Remember, since the confirmation of the first outbreak of Xylella July 22, 2015 on plants Milkwort in myrtle leaves in Corsica, an eradication and surveillance strategy has been implemented on all the French territory. Thus, more than 12 000 samples that have been made and tested, leading to detection of 302 households in total in Corsica, in the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes. Source French Ministry f agriculture
