The Kings of Spain convey their sorrow and solidarity with France
In the French Embassy in Madrid
Prior to his visit to the residence of the French ambassador, the King sent a telegram of condolence to President of the French Republic, François Hollande, with the following: "With great sorrow and dismay have closely followed the July 14 news the brutal bombing in Nice where deaths have resulted a large number of people and many more are injured. In these painful moments, I wish to communicate you, in my name, in the Government and the Spanish people, my deepest sense of regret and strong condemnation of the heinous terrorist violence."
"Together with the Queen, Mr. President, I extend to the families of the victims our full support and solidarity and the desire for a speedy recovery of the wounded. We are very close to the dear French people and reaffirm our unity and commitment to continue fighting with determination against those who, inhuman and ruthless manner, undermine democratic values and against the principles that unite us and make us strong. I repeat you take this opportunity to express my highest consideration and esteem as well as the immense affection and solidarity to the Spanish people feel towards the French people," concluded the royal telegram.
Moreover, the Government, meeting in Council of Ministers, joined the minute of silence saved in solidarity with the Executive and the French people for the attack suffered in the city of Nice. The Prime Minister in office and members of his Cabinet met on the stairs to the building of the Council of Ministers to the minute of silence at noon stored in all Government offices in the bombing in Nice.
The only ministers who were not present were the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, official visit to Mongolia, and Interior, for being presiding over the Monitoring Commission of the State Pact against jihadist terrorism. Previously, at 9 am, the Prime Minister made an official statement at the Palace of La Moncloa in connection with this attack.
The alert level remains
The Minister of Home Affairs, Jorge Fernandez Diaz, has decided to maintain the level 4 terror alert on a scale of 5 after evaluation and proposed that police experts conducted the meeting table assessment of the terrorist threat in Spain, held this Friday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the occasion of the terrorist attack registered in Nice.
Anti-Terror Alert Level is a scale composed of several complementary levels, each of which is associated with a degree of risk, depending on the assessment of the terrorist threat appreciate every moment. The classification provided has five levels associated activation at a given risk level: Level 1 is low risk, level 2 moderate risk, level 3 medium risk, level 4 at high risk and Level 5 very high risk.
