USPA News -
At least seven civilians were killed in a roadside bomb attack in western Afghanistan, while four national security members were found beheaded after being kidnapped, local authorities said Wednesday. The roadside bomb occurred on Wednesday morning in the district of Shindhand in Afghanistan`s Herat Province, when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated at around 9 a.m. local time.
A van was reportedly traveling toward Shindand when it was hit by the roadside bomb, according to a securty official who spoke with Khaama Press. He said at least seven civilians were killed while five others were injured. Among the deadly victims were a woman and two children. No group or terrorist organization has claimed responsibility, but Taliban militants usually target security forces with roadside bombs. However, when casualties are civilians, responsibility is usually not claimed. Also on Wednesday, the bodies of four beheaded Afghan security forces were found in the northern province of Jawzjan. The victims had been kidnapped earlier as they were on their way home. Zabiullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesperson, claimed responsibility of the act on behalf of the terrorist group.
