Ivory Coast has been hit last Sunday, by a deadly terrorist attack that targeted the resort town of Grand-Bassam. On behalf of France, the President of the Republic has condemned in the strongest terms this heinous and cowardly attack.

TERRORIST ATTACK IN GRAND BASSAM HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY AQIM--------------------------------------------------
The terrorist attack, has been claimed by AQIM, and killed 18 people including four French at Grand-Bassam, a seaside resort near Abidjan. Yesterday, the Ivorian Interior Minister Hamed Bakayoko had counted 33 injured, 26 were still in hospital after the attack. Among the 18 dead also included a German national, director of the Goethe Institute in Abidjan and source familiar with the matter, Lebanon nationals, Burkina Faso and Mali. Three terrorists were also killed. According to RFI- The Ivorian authorities have promised to strengthen security and to advance the investigation at the time.
