In the historic part of Dayton, Ohio you will find the Oregon District. The architecture of 1829 creates an atmosphere reflecting the influence from the early ethnics of German settlers. The district offers historic houses, unique shops, restaurants and a great wine & deli shop.
Ohio has several great vineyards and wine & cheese bars. This is he first part of an ongoing series. We will explore 43 locations and seven vineyards throughout Ohio.
Our first location comes to you from within the heart of the Oregon District. The 5th Street Wine & Deli has been part of the Oregon for over 10 years. The owner and it's loyal dedicated staff has developed long term relationships not only in the Oregon District but with those out of staters that frequent 5th Street on a regular basis.This can only come from one thing, delivering quality service and products.
When you walk into the 5th Street, you will feel like you are downtown New York City. You will find an excellent selection of wines for both the new and experienced wine connoisseur. An outstanding selections of Boar's Head cheeses, fresh locally made deli breads and delicious variety of high quality deli meats. A great deli sandwich can be prepared and served on location or made for takeout.
Ever Saturday night you can partake in the weekly wine tasting. When weather permits you can enjoy the decorative patio atmosphere. The retail wine has become the numbering spot to pick up your favorite and carry it to several of the BYOB style restaurant.
As part of the decor 5th Street Wine & Delhi's to offer, it supports and displays several works of art of young artist that attend the nearby Stivers Performing Arts High School.
