Socialists warn Rajoy that will not pardon him with his vote on the investiture
PSOE political pacts discussion
USPA NEWS -
"I will not be president at any price, but I'm not willing to pay the price the Spaniards four more years of the right in the Government," said Saturday the General Secretary of the Socialist Party, at the beginning of the Federal Committee who will decide its policy of pacts.
The Federal Committee began setting for the next May 21 and 22 the celebration of the 39th Congress of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE its acronym in Spanish), as requested by regional party leaders critical to the management of the General Secretary. In his opening speech, Pedro Sanchez said that "the last thing I worry about is my future" but warned the acting Prime Minister, the conservative Mariano Rajoy, to abandon "hope" to reach an agreement with the Socialists, because they will not "pardon him with his vote" in the investiture.
Pedro Sanchez believes the first to present his candidacy for President of the Spanish Government must be Rajoy, but confirmed that, if he continues to refuse to submit to the investiture session and King Philip VI provides the Socialist Secretary General to be candidate, he will accept. "We have to make clear," said Pedro Sanchez, "the PSOE, at the crossroads as Spain, takes a step forward."
With only 90 deputies, the Socialist Party needs the support of other parties and therefore, Pedro Sanchez, reiterated his offer of dialogue with parties on both the left and the right. However, he warned "new parties" that to form Government, the Socialists are not going to talk about armchairs but the problems of citizens. "From what can be negotiated is the issues that really concern people," said Pedro Sanchez.
