Spain detained nine suspected members of the PKK

USPA NEWS - Spanish Police have arrested nine people in a police operation against the structure of the terrorist organization PKK. The arrests were carried out in Madrid, Valencia and Bilbao, and the operation is still open.
Agents of the General Information Office of the Spanish National Police conducted during early Wednesday in Madrid, Valencia and Bilbao a police operation against the structure of recruitment, training and integration in the military apparatus of the terrorist organization PKK-KCK, operating in Turkey and Syria. During the police operation it has arrested a total of nine people and there have been 11 house searches.
The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by the European Union since July 2011 and is included in the list of foreign terrorist groups of the State Department of the United States. According to Spanish Police, it has partner networks in other European countries, especially Germany, Holland and Belgium. In Spain they were arrested six members of its network of extortion and financing in February 2013.
The General Information Office of the Spanish Police also participated in March 2013 in the arrest in Brussels of Yilmaz Orkan, considered head of the apparatus of extortion by the PKK, against which there was an international warrant issued by the Central Court of Instruction No. 1 of the National Court. In October last year, the Spanish Police arrested in Alicante, Mediterranean coast, to Senol Akyaz, Turkish claimed by his country for membership of the PKK and remanded in custody by order of the National Court.
