Vietnamese short film is selected for Berlin Film Festival

Thanh Pho Khac (Another City), by young director Pham Ngoc Lan, will compete at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
The 25-minute film depicts loneliness in a city through a group of office employees.
Producer Ngo Dai Trang said the film budget was USD8,000, with USD6,000 from the Denmark-Vietnam Cultural Development and Exchange Fund. It took one-year for preparation and the film was shot over 12 days in Hanoi and Cao Bang Province.

Director Pham Ngoc Lan was born in 1987 and graduated from Hanoi Architecture University. In 2011, Lan made a short film, The Story of Ones, and brought it to various international film festivals.
Another City also helped director Pham Ngoc Lan take part in the Berlinale Talents Campus in February, 2015.
This is the first Vietnamese short film selected for competition at Berlin Film Festival.
Last year, Cha va con va “¦ (Big Father, Small Father and Other Stories) was one of 20 film nominated for the Golden Bear award in the best film category.
