USPA NEWS - Hannover, Germany. Presented every year by Deutsche Messe, the HERMES AWARD is one of the world's most important prizes in the world of industry. The award is given in honor of a technologically innovative product making its debut at HANNOVER MESSE.
Products entered for the award must have undergone industrial trials and/or already be used in industrial applications, and must be particularly innovative in terms of technical and economic impact. The competition is open to all companies and institutions exhibiting at HANNOVER MESSE 2016. The deadline for applications is 24 February 2016.

The HERMES AWARD boasts a PR package worth around 100,000 euros. “The winners of previous years have all benefited from the HERMES AWARD as it ensures international recognition and gives as major boost to the winning company. The prize is awarded to companies of any size, from SMEs on up to major corporations,“ said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Member of the Board at Deutsche Messe.
The award winner will be chosen by an independent jury chaired by Dr. Wolfgang Wahlster, Director and CEO of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). The nominated companies will be introduced at the Opening Ceremony for HANNOVER MESSE 2016 on 24 April, and the winner announced in the presence of German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and U.S. President Barack Obama.
All of the products nominated for the HERMES AWARD 2016 will be on display at HANNOVER MESSE from 25 to 29 April 2016 within its Research & Technology show located in Hall 2.


The 2015 winner of the HERMES AWARD was Wittenstein AG, for its product Galaxie ““ a completely new type of mechanical gearhead featuring Industry 4.0 connectivity.
