Accused of several crimes

The sister of King Philip IV of Spain, the Infanta Cristina of Bourbon, sits on Monday at the dock, at the start of the trial of the “˜case Nóos´ by the illegal diversion of 6.2 million Euros of public money.
Cristina of Bourbon is charged as necessary cooperator two tax offenses allegedly committed by her husband, former international handball player Inaki Urdangarin. The princess will sit on the bench Monday when the Court will decide preliminary questions, including whether it applies to the King's sister called 'doctrine Botin' and whether it will be present in the courtroom or, conversely she only have to appear on the last day, when it is scheduled to declare.

All of them are charged with crimes related to a greater or lesser extent, with the diversion of 6.2 million Euros of public money that would have pocketed Urdangarin and his partner, Diego Torres, through a complex network of shell companies.
Investigation of the case has dragged on for over a year and her partner Inaki Urdangarin, Diego Torres, has tried to involve the Royal Family and, in particular, the emeritus King Juan Carlos I and the current King Philip VI, by posting e-mails and other communications that were trying to demonstrate their knowledge of illicit activities Urdangarín.
