Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, today spoke on the telephone with the new Libyan Prime Minister Al-Sarraj Fayyez, whom he congratulated on his appointment following the political agreement signed on December 17 in Skhirat.

He assured that France stood alongside the Libyan people to overcome the challenges the country faces, starting with securing the capital, the return to stability and the fight against terrorism. Laurent Fabius announced Mr. Sarraj emergency medical assistance in the form of a delivery of drugs to the hospital in Benghazi (Benghazi Medical Center), to support the people of this city torn by fighting.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
