Spain calls for strengthening the rule of law in Arab countries
To combat terrorism

Catala stressed the importance of international cooperation in preventing terrorism and that line said it was necessary to prioritize lines of action with countries in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), especially as regards the fight against foreign terrorist fighters. The minister highlighted as essential to prevent radicalization and combating terrorism, strengthening the institutional framework in these countries and support for strengthening the rule of law.
In that sense, Catala said that the Ministry of Justice of Spain, together with partners from other countries actively involved in capacity building projects in the field of Justice and governance in Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt. The Council also asked the European Commission before January 2016 raised the proposal that the Minister of Justice enunciated in the Brussels Conference held on October 19 under the title 'Criminal justice response to radicalization' to file criminal records of EU citizens could be extended to third countries.
