The instrumentalisation of ethnic and community issues have no place in 21st century Africa and rhetoric of this type must be denounced, "said Parliamentary Secretary General. The Secretary-General calls on the Burundian parliamentary aÌ actors to show responsibility and prioritize the legitimate aspirations of the Burundian people al peace aÌ democracy and development.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to the crisis of democracy and serious violations of human rights in the country, the parliament of Burundi is currently under observation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie. This measure, which was imposed in July 2015 on the occasion of the 41st Session of the APF, was accompanied by any institutional provision suspending cooperation with the Parliament of Burundi and preventing Burundian Parliament to hold a position of responsibility within of the Assembly.
