Lance Edward Armstrong is an American former professional road racing cyclist. He previously won the Tour de France seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005, but was stripped of those victories in 2012 after a protracted doping scandal. Armstrong had been the subject of doping allegations ever since winning the 1999 Tour de France. In a 2013 interview, Armstrong confessed that some of the allegations were true.
Stephen Arthur Frears is an English film director. Frears directed several critically acclaimed British feature films since the 1980s including My Beautiful Laundrette, Dangerous Liaisons, High Fidelity, The Queen and Philomena. In the late 1980s, Frears came to international attention as a director of feature films. He was also one of several celebrities who endorsed the parliamentary candidacy of the Green Party's Caroline Lucas at the 2015 general election. But it was made clear that the supporters were not necessarily backing the Green party nationally, just Lucas as an individual.
