Short film The Audition, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Brad Pitt, isn't ready to make an impression just yet. Two trailers for Scorsese's latest were posted online earlier this year, but they were taken down not long after.
The Venice Film Festival said in a statement: “We have just been informed by the production that due to unexpected technical problems the film could not be here in time.“

The short film was first announced back in August of last year, and was made, in part, to promote Melco-Crown Entertainment casinos in Macau and Manila. Terrence Winter, screenwriter of Scorsese and DiCaprio´s The Wolf of Wall Street, wrote the script for The Audition, which was produced by Brett Ratner.
A representative for the film told THR that, while the producers had hoped that the film would be ready in time for Venice, unfortunately the film is still in postproduction and could not be completed in time.

Martin Scorcese is currently in post-production on his latest feature film, Silence, and he's planning to make a Macbeth documentary, based on Kenneth Branagh's Second World War Leavesden Aerodom performances, sometime soon. He also wants to make a Mike Tyson biopic whith Jamie Foxx, says Foxx, and is tapped to work on the Benicio Del Toro-starring show Cortes and a TV version of his Shutter Island as well. Also, Mark Wahlberg wants him to make a Boardwalk Empire movie, too. (The Celebrity Cafe)
