USPA NEWS - Christiane Taubira Minister of Justice of France met with the Reverend Jesse Jackson, another American leader, known for campaigning to dimension Martin Luther King or defending the civil rights of black Americans. They met in Guadeloupe during her displacement to the French West Indies.

JESSE JACKSON MEETS CHRISTIANE TAUBIRA EXCHANGING ABOUT SLAVERY AND OTHER HOT TOPICS---- Christiane Taubira, initiated the law of 21 May 2001 which acknowledges, as memorial law,“the crime against humanity of the slave trade and slavery practiced in the fifteenth century on the African populations, Amerindian, Malagasy and Indian“. Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr. is an American civil rights activist, and Baptist minister. During the 1980s, he achieved wide fame as a politician, as well as becoming a well-known spokesman for civil rights issues. In 1980 for example, Jackson mediated in a firefighters' strike. He was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1984 and 1988 and served as a shadow U.S. Senator for the District of Columbia from 1991 to 1997. He is the founder of the organisations that merged to form Rainbow/PUSH. Former U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. is his eldest son. Jackson was also the host of Both Sides with Jesse Jackson on CNN from 1992 to 2000. Writing in a 1977 National Right to Life Committee News report, Jackson argued that the basis for Roe v. Wade ““ the right to privacy ““ was also a premise that had been used to justify slavery and the treatment of slaves on the plantations. Jackson decried what he believed was the casual taking of life, and the decline in society's value system.

Christiane Taubira said after a meeting with Jesse Jackson:"I met the Rev. Jesse Jackson, also on a visit here. It was an opportunity to discuss how France has seized the memory of slavery and hot topics that are not lacking in the United States and in France." The Minister unveils then, her agenda for the next four days of visits between Martinique, then Guadeloupe St Martin and Saint Barthelemy before joining Cuba and Haiti. Afterwards we have met the 2015 graduates of the city; I finally went visiting the house of justice and law and AAPAS association, two major players access the right to victim assistance and crime prevention. " Later, she tells us later that she will soon travel to the US to meet her counterpart Loretta Lynch, Attorney General of the United States.
