STRUCTURAL EUROPEAN FUNDS NEED TO BE MORE SIMPLE AND READABLE BY THE CITIZEN-----------------
Second item of expenditure of the EU budget, they must afford to invest more than 363 million euros in 277 European regions during the period 2014-2020, including 16 billion euros in the French regions. He proposed to the European Commission, on behalf of all Member States, ways to reduce and simplify these rules.
“On behalf of all European Member States, I forwarded to the Vice-President of the Commission, Frans Timmermans, responsible in particular for better regulation, the Commissioner Corina Cretu, responsible for regional policy, and Commissioner Marianne Thyssen, responsible in particular social affairs, proposals to simplify rules and management of European structural funds. Said Harlem Desir
The structural funds are a great leverage to finance future projects for the development of our territories. Second item of expenditure of the EU budget, they must afford to invest more than 363 million euros in 277 European regions during the period 2014-2020, including 16 billion euros in the French regions. It is very practical to fund major infrastructure serving the economy, social inclusion projects to fight against unemployment and exclusion or research to develop future energy and the digital future.
Nevertheless, the procedures to benefit are complex and sometimes unstable. They can be obstacles to the proper understanding of the rules and discourage project developers wishing to receive support from the European Union. It is therefore important that Europe finds solutions to offer a clear reading, simplified and therefore more effective rules.
"So I proposed to the Commission, on behalf of all Member States, ways to reduce and simplify these rules."
The Government is fully mobilised to continue to make Europe clearer and more readable to all citizens and actors in our territories which benefit European policies in daily life."Said Harlem Desir- Official statement and remarks of Harlem Desir, State Secretary for European Affairs
