Spanish and Italian police will patrol jointly in cities of both countries

USPA NEWS - As of July 1, agents of the National Police and of the Polizia di Stato of Italy and agents of the Civil Guard and Carabinieri patrol jointly in Madrid, Malaga, Ibiza and Formentera in Spain, and Rome, Florence, Venice and Amalfi Coast in Italy.

The target is to be present in places of greater presence of tourists to offer comprehensive care in the area of public security with police officers who speak their native language and know their local legal procedures of both countries. Six officers of the Polizia di Stato and three Italian Arma Carabinieri patrol, this summer, along with Spanish agents in large tourist areas, while six agents of the National Police and Civil Guard three will travel to Italy, where they will patrol for the same purpose.

The officers will serve their regulation uniform with the main purpose of accelerating the exchange of information between police forces and to facilitate contacts between tourists and local police forces, as well as diplomatic and consular authorities both countries. The agents of the Polizia di Stato of Italy will provide its service at points of special tourist importance of the cities of Madrid (1 to 15 July), Malaga (1 through August 15) and Ibiza (16 to August 31).

Meanwhile, the three members of Arma Carabinieri shall be two months, from July 1 to August 31, on the island of Ibiza (1) and on the island of Formentera (2). Their functions range from patrols on foot or by car to care for victims of crime, crime prevention or support the formalization of complaints. In the same periods as the Polizia di Stato and Arma Carabinieri in Spain, agents of the National Police, two per fortnight in the cities of Rome (1-15 July 16 to August 31) and Florence (1-15 August), and the Civil Guard, for two months (from 1 July to 31 August), the cities of Venice, Sorrento and Amalfi, they perform the same functions.
