NEW BAY IS A CHAMPION AS WELL AS HIS JOCKEY VINCENT CHEMINAUD------------------------------------------- New Bay imposes himself in front of the Irish horse Highland Reel and the horse from Pau (South of France), War Dispatch. New Bay is owned by the Saudi-Arabian Prince, Khalid Abdullah, who already won the Prix du Jockey Club in 1990 with Sanglamore. The colt is trained by André Fabre in Chantilly, who has been recognized as the best French trainer since 1987 (except in 2009). It is his fourth success in the Prix du Jockey Club, but overall his third since the distance was reduced to 2,100 meters in 2009. New Bay´s jockey, Vincent Cheminaud, is an exceptional jockey. He is both, the best steeple jockey up to now and only an apprentice jockey in flat (jockey with less than 70 victories). It is very rare that an apprentice wins the Prix du Jockey Club.
