The classical dancer Maya Plisetskaya dies at 89

USPA NEWS - The Spanish-Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, one of the symbols of classical dance in the twentieth century, died suddenly on Saturday, May 2 at his home in the German city of Munich at the age of 89 years.

As reported his ancient agent in Spain, Ricardo Cue, the death was the result of a heart attack. Plisetskaya was "the first absolute dancer" from one generation to which also belong the Cuban Alicia Alonso and British Margot Fonteny, Cue said. The Spanish-Russian artist directed the Ballet of the National Lyric Theater of Spain between 1987 and 1990. He was in possession of the Gold Medal of Fine Arts, awarded by the Spanish Government. In 1993 she obtained the Spanish nationality.

Mikhaylovna Maya Plisetskaya was born on November 20, 1925 in Moscow and began studying ballet at the age of 9 years. Two years later he debuted at Bolsoi Theatre, and was part of the cast of this theater until 1990. His style was defined as "angular, dramatic, and theatrical, exploiting the gifts that everyone in her mother's family Seemed to possess," proof of his mastery on stage.
