Spain exported 115 jihadists

USPA NEWS - The Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz, has risen to 115 the number of jihadists from which it know that have left Spain to fight in Syria or Iraq. The head of the Spanish internal security is positively values the experience of Spain in the fight against terrorism.

However, Fernandez Diaz does not deny that "the birth of the Islamic State, its initial implementation in Syria and Iraq, and their influence and expansion into other territories in northern Africa, is a fact that should concern". For his part, the Secretary of State for Security, Francisco Martínez, stressed that Spain, "in its firm commitment to fight" the "terrorism of the century XXI", has launched a comprehensive strategy, in addition to police work, based on four pillars: the social, the policy level, the rules and the international cooperation "imposed" to respond to the global threat of jihadist terrorism.

Regarding the political arena, Francisco Martinez stressed that "against terrorist unit is one of the fundamental pillars" on which sits the fight against the terrorist phenomenon. In this regard, he highlighted the recent State Agreement reached on terrorism, which "ensures our unity of political action and gives it stability and vocation of permanence in time. Martinez also relates to international relations as the basis of success against terrorism and as Spain "is strongly promoting the improvement of cooperation with other States and strengthening counterterrorism tools within international organizations."
