The visit will feature a town hall dialogue hosted by the Catholic University of Brasilia, where Coordinator Painter and Ambassador Sepulveda will speak to a group of students on “The Outlook for Net Neutrality, Internet Governance, and Cybersecurity“.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Painter has even adorned his office walls with posters from science fiction movies that involve hackers on the run, espionage and computers taking over the world. Particularly with Europe, about a year ago there was ““ for instance, there was a ““ out of the summit, the EU-U.S. summit, there was a commitment to have a working group dealing with cyber security issues, and that work has been continuing apace. So there´s been a lot of work with the EU on that issue. However there is still to be worked on with the European colleagues. Especially when he came up many years ago with chair a G-8 high tech group that built a network of 24/7 contacts including 50 countries from around the world. (Source : fpc.state.gov). The situation needs now more thane ver to be strengthen through EU/US cooperation in that sense.-------------------------------- For updates on this trip, please contact the Office of the Coordinator for Cyber Issues at scci_press@state.gov.
