The Secretary of State stressed that this connection has-been established in a few weeks and stressed that this is the first time the Spanish intelligence services have evidence of the relationship between jihadism and organized crime. Earlier, speaking at a seminar on 'The security, guarantee of freedom', Francisco Martínez said that "all terrorism have in common their contempt for freedom and this demands a firm and decisive response to the flag of terror, display ideology, religion or color, it is. The political leader added that we hold in our democracy signing the pact against jihadism, a state pact promoted by president of the Spanish Government, calling it "vital" to combat jihadist terrorism.

The pact aims to "break the chain of transmission of radicalization," while also "awareness and sensitize" the Spanish society about the importance of violent extremism, said Francisco Martinez. He stressed that Spain, with more than 100 police operations and more than 500 arrested since the 11-M (March 11, 2004) and with 28 operations and 62 arrested so far this term, is one of the European countries leading the fight against jihadism.
