USPA NEWS - The French President, François Hollande, received two days ago, John Kerry, Secretary of State of the United States of America who apologized for their absence at the republican march. He asked the Secretary to thank President Obama for support provided by the US regarding the terrorist attacks.

The President of the French Republic and the Secretary of State agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism after the attecks that hit the country last week. François Hollande recalled the efforts underway, particularly in the Normandy format to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. JOHN KERRY MET LAURENT FABIUS, AND EXPRESSED HIS CONDOLENCES TO THE VICTIMS OF THE TERRORIST ATTACKS---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Kerry went to Charlie Hebdo' site, January 16, in tribute to the victims of the January 7 alongside Laurent Fabius, his counterpart French. According to the spokesman of the French Minister of Foreign Affairs: "This visit demonstrates the solidarity uniting France and the United States against terrorism and to defend freedom. France and the United States cooperate closely in the fight against jihadist movements." He adds that : "The visit of John Kerry will be carrying a symbolic message of friendship, it will also be an opportunity to discuss concrete measures to strengthen international cooperation against the global threat of terrorism". In fact, John Kerry confirms, following the visit of the Attorney General, Eric Holder, on 11 January in Paris who announced the holding of a future summit on terrorism Washington DC. On February 18, 2015, the White House will host a Summit on Countering Violent Extremism to highlight domestic and international efforts to prevent violent extremists and their supporters from radicalizing, recruiting, or inspiring individuals or groups in the United States and abroad to commit acts of violence, efforts made even more imperative in light of recent, tragic attacks in Ottawa, Sydney, and Paris.-------------------------------------A FUTURE CONFERENCE ABOUT TERRORISM IN WASHINGTON DC FEBRUARY 18----------------------------------- The summit will highlight best practices and emerging efforts from these communities. At the same time, our partners around the world are actively implementing programs to prevent violent extremism and foreign terrorist fighter recruitment. The summit will include representatives from a number of partner nations, focusing on the themes of community engagement, religious leader engagement, and the role of the private sector and tech community.
