The Golden State Warriors hit a rough patch

USPA NEWS - These last two games the Warriors haven't shown their full potential. There was little energy, little positive activity and no sense that the Warriors were eager to seize the opportunity to sweep the Lakers or the Clippers.

The Warriors came to Los Angeles with an opportunity to sweep the Lakers and Clippers, thereby establishing that they are one of the top teams in the west. It ended badly, losing both games horribly. There was, above all, a total lack of urgency, no level of determination they've previously shown and is required to win a championship. It was indeed somewhat surprising to see the Warriors being outfought by the Clippers, who were playing their fifth game in seven nights. They also eliminated them in the first round of the 2014 playoffs, losing in seven games. Against the Lakers, the Warriors allowed 115 points.

Against the Clippers, Golden State's offense sputtered, scoring only 86 points on 80 shots. As a result, the team with the NBA's best record absorbed its fifth loss of the season and second at Staples Center in three days.

These last two games the Warriors haven't shown their full potential. There was little energy, little positive activity and no sense that the Warriors were eager to seize the opportunity to sweep the Lakers or Clippers. The Warriors are staring at consecutive losses for only the second time this season.

"It happens to everybody," Kerr said. "You go through spells for whatever reason. Things change. Lineups change, injuries, whatever, fatigue. So you hit a rough patch and you've got to find a way to get back off the mat and get going again."

So it's back to work for the coaching staff and the team. They'll be home for the next 17 days, plenty of time to get back on track. Based on these two losses, they have plenty of work to do to get back to playing like a quality team.
