Death toll rises to 5 in Jerusalem synagogue attack

USPA News - A police officer who was critically injured when two axe-wielding Palestinians attacked a Jerusalem synagogue on Tuesday has died, Israeli officials said on early Wednesday, raising the number of casualties to five. Police Superintendent Micky Rosenfeld said 30-year-old police officer Zidan Saif died late at night after being critically injured on Tuesday morning.
Four rabbis died earlier after two Palestinians using knives and axes attacked Jews who were praying at a synagogue in Jerusalem`s western neighborhood of Har Nof. Rosenfeld said earlier that Saif, who died at Hadassah Hospital, was critically injured after a shootout with the attackers, who were both shot and killed by police.
