`Harry Potter` actor David Legeno found dead in California desert
USPA News -
British actor David "Dave" Legeno, who is best remembered for his role as werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the "Harry Potter" films, died last week while hiking in the Death Valley desert in California, local officials said on Friday. He was 50 years old.
Legeno was found dead at around 7 a.m. local time on Sunday by two hikers in a remote wash near Manly Beacon, an area west of Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park, said Carma Roper, a spokeswoman for the Inyo County Sheriff`s Office. It is believed Legeno may have been dead for several days before his body was discovered. Roper said a California Highway Patrol (CHP) helicopter was called in to take a Sheriff`s deputy to the scene and to transport the body to the coroner`s office. "It appears that Legeno died of heat-related issues, but the Inyo County Coroner will determine the final cause of death," she said. "There are no signs of foul play." Legeno portrayed werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the 2009 film "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" and in the 2010 and 2011 films "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." He also appeared in a number of other films, including the 2000 film "Snatch," the 2005 film "Batman Begins," and the 2006 film "Stormbreaker." Besides his career in acting, Legeno was also known as boxer and mixed martial artist `The Enforcer.`.
