Coming to Debert in 2020

Debert is a village located in Nova Scotia's Colchester County. Just a 55 mile car ride from Halifax, which is the provincial capital, the community is home to the former Canadian Forces Station Debert. Today, the Debert Airport (Debert Flight Centre) is operated by the Truro Flying Club.
With the very successful 2019 Air Show season in Atlantic Canada a distant memory, Air Show Atlantic had recently announced that Debert, Nova Scotia would be the location for the 2020 Atlantic Canada International Air Show which will be held on August 29th and 30th. This will be the first air show produced by Air Show Atlantic to be held in Debert. In June of 2019, there was a mini air show that featured the Canadian Forces Snowbirds held at the Debert Airport attracting thousands of fans to the mid week production. .In a media release Executive Director Colin Stephenson said, “With over 4,000 fans attending a mid-week show in the afternoon, it was clear that Debert, Truro and the communities of Colchester County were ideal for hosting Air Show Atlantic."
In a media release Truro Mayor Bill Mills said, "The Town of Truro is happy to support the Atlantic International Air Show in August 2020 and the great work of Events Truro Colchester, who will be hosting the event locally."
Colchester County Mayor Christine Blair went on to say, "We're proud of our Debert Airport and are thrilled to welcome back the Snowbirds, this time along with the full Atlantic Canada International Air Show. It's very exciting!"
The August 29th and 30th, 2020 show will feature aerobatic displays from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. This will be the Snowbirds 50th air show display season and they will be joined by classic "warbirds" which include World War I , Korean War and Cold War era planes. There will also be air displays by the CF-18 Demo jet along with other current Canadian Forces assets and more.
On the ground there will be an impressive Static Display which will consist of both civilian and military aircraft. Also fully visible to the public is the Performers Hot Ramp. The Hot Ramp" is the area where the operations take place. The spectator can expect to see aircraft taxi out to perform, taxi in after performance along with maintenance. The Hot Ramp is always a popular attraction for excited fans.
