USPA NEWS - Is Europe ready for another world cup battle? 13 national teams are gearing up to represent Europe in the next world cup tournament. With the largest representation at the tournament and arguably some the best teams in the world, Europe just might clinch the cup again.

10 of the 19 world cup tournaments have been won by an European country with the other 9 going to South American countries. The last two tournaments, in 2006 and 2010, were won by European nations. While this is a glorious achievement, the quest for further victory is still alive. Whether or not the best soccer nations are from Europe is debatable and will not minimize the possibility of another European victory. Fortunately for Europe, the balance of power in the soccer arena has not shifted and they still enjoy the majority representation at the tournament. Having a considerable number of highly ranked soccer teams is an added advantage and improves European chances significantly.

The greatest opposition to another European victory will come from South America, which boasts of the country with the most world cup soccer titles: Brazil. The threat posed by Brazil will be amplified by their status as the host nation. European teams will be wary of this home court advantage and will put extra effort should they play against Brazil. Its common knowledge that the host nation is usually fired up and does not hold back. This might be beneficial to European teams since, as the saying goes, forewarned is forearmed. A victory by any South American team will equalize the number of titles held by both continents.
