USPA NEWS - The new ministers of the Spanish Socialist Government presided over by Pedro Sanchez take office this Thursday, after taking an oath before King Philip VI in the palace of La Zarzuela. Seventeen ministries - four more than in the previous Conservative Government - and eleven women in the Cabinet. It is the Government with the largest female presence in Europe and, possibly, in the whole world.
The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, has surrounded himself with prestigious and experienced politicians, as well as prominent figures in Spanish public life, such as astronaut Pedro Duque or journalist and TV star Maxim Huerta, to form his Cabinet. The Vice President and Minister of Equality Carmen Calvo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, stand out. Also the new Minister of Home Affairs, the former judge Fernando Grande-Marlaska, the new Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, or the Minister of Economy, Nadia Calvino, arrived from Brussels, where she has worked in the environment of the European Commission. The composition of the new Cabinet, which takes office this Thursday and will meet for the first time in the Council of Ministers on Friday, is as follows:

Vice President and Equality Minister: Carmen Calvo.
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Josep Borrell.
Minister of Economy: Nadia Calvino.
Minister of Finance: Maria Jesus Montero.
Minister of Justice: Dolores Delgado.
Minister of the Home Affairs: Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
Minister of Defense: Margarita Robles.
Minister of Labor: Magdalena Valerio.
Minister of Development: José Luis Abalos.
Minister of Health: Carmen Monton.
Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities: Pedro Duque.
Minister of Agriculture: Luis Planas.
Minister of Industry: Reyes Maroto.
Minister of Culture: Maxim Huerta.
Minister of Territorial Administration: Meritxell Batet.
Minister of Environment: Teresa Ribera.
Minister of Education: Isabel Celaa.
