NATIONAL OVER- 40 TOUR FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE WESTCHESTER TT CENTER

On December 2-3, 2017 the Westchester Table Tennis Center in Pleasantville, New York, hosted the NATIONAL OVER- 40 TOUR FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP, which became the culmination of fourteen Over 40 table tennis tournaments conducted in the U.S. in 2016 - 2017, as a preparation to the 19th World Veterans Table Tennis Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada in June 2018.
In the Final Match there met New York´s Yanjun Gao, with the U.S. Rating - 2619 and Yu Shao, with the U.S. Rating 2528. Gao, Yanjun won the match, with the Trophy Cup and money prize $3,000 with the results 13:11,11: 7, 8:11,11:8,14:12. For the third and fourth places there met four-time U.S. Men´s Singles Champion “” Jimmy Butler and Li, Yu Xiang. Jimmy Butler took the third place by winning the match with the results 11:8, 11:9, 11:2, 11:8.
Competitions were played, besides of the Tour Championship division, in several other divisions such as Over 40 Open, Over 40 + U1800, Over 50 Open, Over 50 + U1800, Over 60 + U1800, Over 70 + U1800.
The Organizing Committee and Officials of the National Over 40 Final Tour are Will Shorts, Gail Kendall, Robert Roberts, Roman Tinyszin, Verna Edwards, Leon Libin.
"Fifty players from as far away as Seattle, Austin, San Antonio, and Minneapolis took part in the championship of the National Over-40 Table Tennis Tour on Dec. 2-3,"-- reports the Westchester Table Tennis Center.
