Anh Vien won 16 gold medals at national swimming event

USPA NEWS - Nguyen Thi Anh Vien alone won 16 gold and three silver medals at the National Swimming Championships, which wrapped up at the Phu Tho swimming club in Ho Chi Minh City on October 9, 2017.

Her achievement helped the Military team took the top place on the medals table with 16 gold, 10 silver and nine bronze medals.

With her outstanding performances, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien won the best swimmer award at the event.

Hosts Ho Chi Minh City took second place on the medals table with 11 golds, five silvers and six bronzes. Notably, swimmer Tran Duy Khoi bagged eight gold medals for Ho Chi Minh City team.

Overseas Vietnamese Le Nguyen Paul won five gold medals to help An Giang team took third place on the medals table with a total of five golds, six silvers and one bronze.

The five-day event saw six new individual records and four relay records, of which swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang of Quang Binh team set three national records in the menĀ“s 800m freestyle, 1,500m freestyle and 400m freestyle events.
