The Day of Finals “” Day Five.
On the final day of the Championships gold medals in Women´s Division were played out between the Team of Romania and the reigning champions Team of Germany, and in the Men´s Division between the Team of Germany and the Team of Portugal.
On the final day of the Championships gold medals in Women´s Division were played out between the Team of Romania and the reigning champions Team of Germany, and in the Men´s Division between the Team of Germany and the Team of Portugal.
In the Women´s match, the champions medals were decided in the fifth game between Daniela Monteiro-Dodean of Romania and Han Ying of Germany. Daniela Dodean-Monteiro for the first time beat Han Ying with the score 3-1 and brought the Gold to her Team and country: 3-2.
In the Men´s Final, all the matches were very competitive and especially the match between Timo Boll and Marcos Freitas, which have been very reminiscent of their meet at the World Championships 2017 in Dusseldorf, Germany. In this re-match, Marcos Freitas was very determined to take a revanche for the loss in Dusseldorf, but the experience and calmness of Timo brought the success in the match for the Gold to him, his team and country - Germany. Dmitrij Ovtcharov and Patrik Franziska, as well, demonstrated their determination to win and the top level of table tennis master-craft in the matches, following the opening one, and concealed the success of the German Team to the delight of German fans in the D´Coque Arena.
At the Finals, there was present His Highness Prince Louis of Luxembourg, who, also, took part in the awards ceremonies of the Championships.
WOMEN'S TEAM FINAL: ROMANIA versus GERMANY: 2-3
