For instance, on the June 22nd, 2017 invited by the Department Fritz, Horstman, who is an Artist in Residency and Education Coordinator at the Albers Foundation, instructed two workshop groups in creative construction from a plain paper. With good humor and proper educational approach, also based on the teaching experiences developed by artist and instructor Josef Albers, of Black Mountain College from North Carolina (1933 - 1957), Mr. F. Horstman from simple to complex led the MoMA´s visitors, who signed for the workshops, to experiment with shapes, rigidity and stability of forms, shadows and light and to finally build the tallest possible, in the circumstances, and stable constructions. Participants of the groups with enthusiasm and curiosity worked on the assignments creating their own art and enjoying the process.
The workshop took place in the People´s Studio of the MoMA and was surrounded of exponate of an ongoing exhibition Frank Lloyd Wright at 150: Unpacking the Archive and project The People´s Studio: Design, Experiment, Build, which catalyze creativity.
All were happy with the results of the events and New Yorkers, definitely, can say: “Thanks, MoMA!“
