1ER GRAND PRIX WORLD PARA ATHLETICS DE PARIS MAY 2017--------------------------------------------------------------
The 30th and 31st of May took place at the Paris stadium Charlety, the third edition of the Handi Open Paris, the rendezvous of athletics handisport organized by the Federation. This very important handisport event will bring together medal athletes from 15 different countries! It represents the ninth "World Para Athletics Grand Prix", and promotes the candidacy of Paris for the organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2024. The deliberations will take place in September.
Two press conferences took place on the first and second day. Attached are the abridged questions of those two press points.
In addition to the competition, a large "Citizens-Sport" village will aim to raise awareness of the disability and the values of the sport children and adults. The Sports Village and Citizen has again offered to the public and groups, with a double capacity! The French Radio (leader in disability) Radio Vivre FM, as a partner of the event, conducted interviews with leaders of the The French Federation of disabled people, sports minister Laura Flessel, chairman of the Paralympic committee, Emmanuelle Assmann, as well as athletes, champions and organisers . During the championship, this was transmitted live from the Charlety stadium during the first day of the competition. More and more activities will help to raise public awareness of disability, the values “‹“‹of sports and the disabled movement through stands dedicated to citizenship, athletics and handicapped practices, with scenarios. The event was thus Renamed HANDISPORT OPEN PARIS, and is also part of an approach to support the bid for Paris, for the organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2024. I personally enjoyed attending and serving this very warm and very well organised event about Athleticism and Disability, mingling with exceptional athletes, and feeling to participate, exchange and vibrate with them.-------------------------------------
