Afghan MP survives suicide attack, at least 3 killed
USPA News -
An Afghan Member of Parliament on Tuesday morning escaped a suicide attack that killed at least three others, local media reported. Afghan lawmaker Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq was crossing the Pul-e-Surkh area in western Kabul, the Afghan capital, not far from the Independent Human Rights Commission office when the suicide bomber launched the attack.
Eyewitnesses told Khaama Press that the explosives were detonated while Mohaqiq`s convoy crossed the area, killing at least three people. Reports suggest that firearms were also heard following the blast. In addition, at least four of Mohaqiq`s security guards were injured from the strong blast, as was a girl. Spokesman for the deputy interior ministry Najibullah Danish said the main target of the suicide bomber was the convoy of Mohaqiq, although he survived the attack. No group has claimed responsibility of the attack.
