The first government of Edouard Philippe was unveiled Wednesday afternoon by the Secretary General of the Elysée. It is composed of 22 members, including 18 ministers and four secretaries of state. Among them, there are political professionals, from the left (Socialist Party), the MoDem (Centrist of Francois Bayrou) and the right ("Les Republicains" of Nicolas Sarkozy). The first Council of Ministers will be held on Thursday morning at 11 am. Besides, half of the members of the government are coming from the civil society. The previous government under Bernard Caseneuve (Former President Hollande) comprised thirty-seven members.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The new government of Edouard Philippe is therefore more restricted with only 22 members. The current members of the new government, may leave their posts in case of victory to the legislative. This is the case of eight of them who present themselves in parallel to the legislative elections for the REM party "Republique En Marche".
