FRENCH GOVERNMENT TO BE UNVEILED AFTER TRANSPARENCY CHECK ON FUTURE MINISTERS

The composition of the Government will be announced on Wednesday, May 17, at 3:00 pm. The announcement of yesterday´s by the French Presidency is in accordance with President Macron´s commitment to moralise public life, to introduce a verification on the nominated personalities under next government
"The composition of the Government will be announced on Wednesday, May 17, at 3:00 pm.The announcement of yesterday´s by the French Presidency i in accordance with President Macron´s commitments to moralise public life, in conjunction with the Prime Minister, who wished to introduce a verification period so that the Directorate General of Public Finance and the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life could carry out an audit, under the necessary diligence to ensure that the personalities who are appointed to the government. This actions will be :
- An initial audit of their tax situation is carried out, whereas the law stipulates that such verification should take place only after their appointment;
- Are not in situations of conflict of interest in the light of the information available to the HATVP.
These procedures are carried out in compliance with the law, in particular with regard to fiscal secrecy. An in-depth procedure will be conducted on the tax position and declarations of interest of the members of the government upon their appointment. Ministers shall sign an undertaking on the honor of integrity and morality that they are not engaged in activities contrary to law or probity. They will declare to the Prime Minister all the interests they have had to know beyond the five-year period provided by law in order to prevent all risks of conflicts of interest in the exercise of their mission government. They will undertake to exercise their governmental functions in an irreproachable manner." Source Elysee
