Afghanistan: Suicide bomber attacks Supreme Court killing at least 17

USPA News - A suicide bomber attacked government offices in the Afghan capital, killing at least seventeen people, local authorities said Tuesday. Suspected Taliban militants targeted the Supreme Court in Kabul, the Afghan capital, at around 4:15 p.m. local time when a suicide car bomber detonated powerful explosives, not far from the American Embassy.

Kabul`s deputy police chief, Colonel Mohammad Daud Amin, confirmed the attack, stating that at least seventeen people were killed and 29 others were wounded, according to Pajhwok Afghan News. Among the killed were women, children and employees of the Supreme Court, although exact numbers were not immediately known. The powerful blast struck two minibuses waiting to pick up employees and also destroyed two vans owned by the Supreme Court. The Taliban claimed responsibility through the group`s spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, the media outlet reported.
