The Deutsches Museum in Munich

USPA NEWS - With more than 28,000 items, there´s no shortage of things to see and learn. The exhibits are regularly rotated and the museum is currently undergoing minor renovations to keep its exhibits up-to-date.

Located on the Museum Island just south of downtown Munich, the Deutches Museum is the largest museum in Germany for science and technology. Although it has three branches each focusing on different aspects of science and technology, its main campus on the Museum Island features over fifty different fields ranging from hydraulic tools to mining.

With more than 28,000 items, there´s no shortage of things to see and learn. The exhibits are regularly rotated and the museum is currently undergoing minor renovations to keep its exhibits up-to-date. Michael, a local engineering student in the Technical University of Munich had this to say about the museum:

“˜I´ve been here several times before, but this time I found a lot of stuff I haven´t seen before and I´m learning a lot of practical applications. It´s a nice compliment to the theory I learn in class.´

There are plenty of hands-on exhibits that visitors are invited to touch and interact with, adding to the educational aspect of the museum. If travelling with kids, there´s even a children´s area. Top tip: leave heavy bags in the locker room before you start; a visit may take several hours!
