In the current context of crises in the Middle East and the destruction of heritage sites, the President of the Republic placed heritage protection at the heart of his priorities. Organized in conjunction with the United Arab Emirates, the Abu Dhabi conference is a unifying event that will mobilize states and international organizations at the highest level around ambitious proposals for heritage protection. THIS CONFERENCE HAS THREE MAIN OBJECTIVES------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1· Establishment of an international fund dedicated to the financing of actions for the protection of cultural heritage at risk; 2· Establishment of an international network of refuges, ie a network of countries undertaking common guarantees to temporarily accommodate the cultural property of a country facing a situation of armed conflict ; 3· Adoption of a joint political declaration for the protection of endangered heritage, with a view to encouraging the adoption of a framework resolution on the protection of the country's heritage at risk in the UN Security Council. UNIQUE EXPERTISE IN THE 3D DIGITISATION OF SITES IN DANGER OF DISAPPEARANCE-------------------------- Working freely in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, the Iconem team is able to intervene urgently to document 3D sites and monuments; It has been working since 2013 in partnership with the archaeologists of the DGAM, and at the end of 2015 launched the "Syrian Heritage" project, whose ambition is to constitute a digital collection of the major Syrian heritage sites.
